Good Morning Friends!

We want you to know Mary and I are praying for all our family and friends during this time of much difficulty and uncertainty!  Our prayers are for each of us to dwell upon God and His Son Jesus Christ, take time to reflect upon how we can use this to help others in need of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We thank you for all you have done for us, the prayers, support, the opportunities that have been give to us by so many, means so very much.  As we go though these days, let us think on the blessings in these times.

SEVEN POSSIBLE BLESSINGS FROM THE CORONAVIRUS
The Bible tells us:  Ro 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
I realize most people right now are thinking how in the world can anything good come of this horrible sickness and death that is happening in our nation?   Our prayer to Almighty God and His Son Jesus Christ, is thanking Him for this:

1.  Thousands of Babies will be born instead of being killed as abortion is put on hold.

2.    Thousands of lives will be saved because drunks will not be leaving bars and night        clubs, driving home under the influence of liquor.

3.    The God of Sports has been stopped in its track.

4.    Millions of dollars will be available to families because they cannot go to gambling casinos.

5.    Families will find time to sit around the dinner table again instead of going out to restaurants and spending money they do not have.

6.    Many moms and dads will find the lost art of cooking meals for their families, and time to bond with each other as traveling is discouraged.

7.    Christians will find that less activities in the outside world is giving them more time to pray and study God’s Word.  Praying God’s people will find that obedience is better than sacrifice.
As the old saying goes, I do not know what the future holds, but we know who holds the future. We know "Jesus is the Answer for the World Today".

Dear Family and Friends of SCM,

The Bible says in  Pr 29:18,  Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Mary and I have a vision, to use our place as a drive thru Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday, April 12th.   Below is the information.   WE REALIZE MANY WHO READ THIS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND, BUT WE ASK THAT YOU PRAY FOR US AS WE PRAY, PLAN AND PROMOTE THIS EVENT!  Thank you!

DRIVE THRU SUNRISE SERVICE, APRIL 12th.

Mary and I are making our place available on April 12th, for a Sunrise Service!   We understand in the coming days, there can be many changes in the way we can do things. So plans may change.
This will be a Drive Thru Service, in which all coming will remain in their vehicle.   The event will be short, but prayerful a powerful and moving time as we remember the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! Our plan is to have a FM transmitter to broadcast the service to FM radios in the cars.

Most likely, we will plan on opening the gate to our place at 6:30 AM, April 12th.   The road in will be one way, making a circle, until we finish the service, then it will be one way out.   Our plan is to have everyone parked by 6:45 AM, and the service will start at that time,  and end at 7:00 AM.   The sun rise is at 6:50 AM.   Again, people will stay in their car, and we will be set up with a sound system that should enable everyone to hear.   Hopefully,  the ban on the number of people gathered will be lifted by that time, and if so, we will have chairs set up for those that would like to get out of their cars.  If that comes to pass, for those who wish to leave their car, we will have a parking place for them that will not hinder those who will be driving in and out.  We also plan to have free hot coco and coffee available for anyone that would like to have it.  It will be delivered to your car.  Handling will be done in compliance with rules for doing so.  All caution will be observed to limit any close contact with those attending.

We know that 6:30 AM is early and difficult for many, but we just ask you to remember what Jesus has done for us, and be willing to make that effort to do something in honor to Him!  Lord willing the weather will be good, the sunrise beautiful, and as we sing, pray and read God's Word, He will speak to each of our hearts, giving us comfort, wisdom and some understanding as we go though these difficult times!   May God bless each of you!

Thank you for your prayers and may the Lord bless in all you do for Him!

READ and HEED

READ AND HEED,

  MESSAGE FROM SCM   3/20/2020

We will from time to time be sending out short messages in which we pray you will find a help in this time of confusion surrounding the Coronavirus. It is evident that many of us will have time on our hands and looking for something to occupy that time as we are asked to stay home, and as many churches are not having services for the next few weeks. What could be better than reading God’s Word; the Study of God’s Word; and Praying?    We hope you will read this, study the Scriptures, take heed, and pray! We call it a short Bible Study, something to READ AND HEED!  Read these statements, then take Heed as to what they say!

 1.  God knows what is happening, this has not taken Him by surprise. Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

2. God has warned us through His Word that these days would come.
Mt 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers’ places.

3. From history, we understand mankind will not for the most part heed what God says and does.
Ec 1:9-11  The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was
before us. There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.

4. God never sends judgement without first giving a warning. He has warned us through His written Word and the preaching of His Word.
Amos 3:7  Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

5. There are a few who will heed, Are you one of them?
1Ti 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Our prayer is while you have time on your hands, study God’s Word, knowing He is in control, He has a plan, you are in His plan!  We will be glad to try to answer any questions you may have; just send us an email and we will do our best to get back with you soon.

December, 2019
                    MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Another year is closing and a new one on the dawning!  Only God knows what the future holds, but we do know the uncertainties before us brings some concerns about our nation, our churches, our families and overall well being!   There are so many people around us that are hurting and going through hard times!  Our churches and pastors are for the most part struggling, but praise the Lord, Jesus is still on the throne and He will bring about His Will in all things!  We just need to take a deep seat and hang on and stay faithful to our calling as things unfold in the future!

As for Mary and I, we are doing well, have had a great year, and thanking the Lord for keeping us healthy and having the strength to keep on going!  We have to admit, the days seem to be harder, the miles longer, and the time needed to recover from those long trips seem to take a little longer!  Over all, we are excited and looking forward to a good schedule in 2020.

Our hearts have been touched this year by so many of our friends in the ministry that have died and gone on to be with Jesus!  Touched in two ways, with grief and sorrow as we will miss them so much, but also with joy and gladness knowing they are no longer in this world but with Jesus!!  Our hearts go out to Herman Cramer and Earl Willoughby,  who lost their wives to death this past year.   Also to the families of pastors and former pastors,  Jim Layton, Ed Trottingwolf, Harry Marsh  and Randy McCormack, and John Morgan, who also have gone on before us to Jesus!  Our prayers for their families and loved ones whom have been left behind for a time!

As of this writing, we have a good schedule ahead of us in 2020. Most of our meetings are repeat meetings for which we thank those pastors and churches who continue to use us.  Praise the Lord,  we do have some new places we will be going in 2020, if the Lord allows!  One of those is scheduled in Quartsite, AZ in January, something we have prayed for years to be able to do, but which the Lord had not allowed us to do for various reasons.  Your prayers for us as we travel this winter to that area to do a tent meeting where thousands of people spend the winter in RVs.  Thanks to the Baptist Church there calling and inviting us to come.  As most of you know, we do not call up churches and ask them for meetings, so when we received this call to go, we know it surely is of the Lord!

Our prayer for you is for you to have a great holiday season as we remember Jesus is the Reason for the season and everyone will take time to stop from the busyness of this life and take time to thank God for all He has done!

Before we close this blog page, we just want every one to know that God has so blessed us this past year with being able to have JD and Lucinda Couch to be a part of the work!  We appreciate them both, as well as Bob and Donna Whitchurch and Jeff and Donna Gore for their willingness to work with Mary and I in so many meetings.  Music is so important to a revival meeting, these precious couples are some of the best as far as we are concerned.

God bless and again, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

SCM MAY, 2019

Good morning, afternoon, or evening, which ever it may be!!

We once again find ourselves tardy in posting anything, guess we just get busy doing things and forget!  So, here we are about four months late!

First of all, we really appreciate the phone calls etc from everyone that has contacted us and asked about our well being due to the floods and tornadoes around our area!  We are fine, all is well, and God has certainly had His hand of protection on us!   We have had over 20 inches of rain at our place since the first of May!  About the only damage we have had was the road has washed out four times, and we have rebuilt it four times!

Mary and I have been very busy, for which we thank the Lord!  We are home at this time, getting ready for the Green Country Cowboy Camp meeting the first week of June!  This Sunday we will be preaching at White Oak Baptist Church, White Oak, OK.   At this time, due to several of the highways being closed due to flooding, what would normally be about a 35 mile trip, will be 88 miles unless the water goes down tomorrow!

After the camp meeting we will be doing a tent meeting in Alluwe, Ok.  We ask for you prayers, as this is the church where the pastor Jim Layton, was injured in a Four Wheeler accident and died from the injuries a couple weeks ago.  The church wants to go ahead with the revival services, and we do believe that is what Jim would have wanted.  Again your prayers for the meeting and especially his wife Kathy, and the family!  After that Mary and I will be heading out on our annual trip to Idaho for VBS and Tent Meetings in Wendell, Gooding and Fairfield.

God has blessed us with a good schedule, some weeks are open but that may be good for us to be home a few days in-between the meetings!

We also ask you to please remember our dear friends and co labors in Christ, Jeff and Donna Gore, they lost their travel trailer and had heavy damage to their home and property near Coleman, Texas due to a tornado last week.

We thank each of you and look forward to seeing some of you as we travel the roads for Jesus, may the Lord bless you and keep you safe!  Until the next time,  we will remain......

Sincerely yours in Christ Jesus,

Steve and Mary

SCM NEWS

JANUARY 17, 2019

Well, here we are in the new year, time is moving fast!  It is only a short time until we will get the trailer ready to hit the road once again.   We are looking forward to seeing many of our friends across the country as well as making new ones!

SCM had our annual business meeting last week, a "Chat and Chew Luncheon", where we gathered at First Baptist Church in Nowata for our business meeting and BBQ meal.  It was good, was not sure the weather was going to turn out ok.  We had over 50 show up, despite the cold and wet!  Just north of us 10 miles was snow on the ground, but God covered Nowata and no snow cover, we had just a few flakes fall, but no accumulation.

We will be praying for FBC Hallett, OK this coming Sunday as they have an open house and re-dedication service for the church.  They remodeled and wanted to rededicate the church to the Lord, sure appreciate Pastor Earl Wessell for his leadership there and for all he and Pastsy do for the Lord.

Mary and I want to again thank everyone for their prayers and support.  We always look forward to the winter months, when we can be around our family for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but also look forward to hitting the road again sharing about our wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ.

May the Lord bless each of you and until later, take care and trust the Lord in all things!

SCM NEWS
FULL MOON

  A SHORT DEVOTION

Tonight as I was sitting at my desk looking at some Bible Verses we were considering for a message, I looked up and out the east window across from my desk.  We noticed the full moon was coming up and what a beautiful sight it was!  We shot a picture and posted it!   Let me tell you, with the clear sky, and just dusk, one could not by help just sit in awe at the handy work of our creator!  God, who hung the sun, moon and stars still shows He is alive and well!  The beauty was overwhelming, the picture God painted tonight was nothing short of spectacular!  Then the thought came to me we want to share below!

I was remembered what we learned in school, so many years ago, that the moon has no light of it's own, but in only a dark blob of substance that reflects the light from the sun!  The bright shinning light we see is nothing more than a reflection of the real light, which comes from that sun, a force also created by God!  As the moon reflects that light, we thought how we as Born Again Christians are to reflect the True Light, from God's SON, Jesus Christ.  As the scripture shares, speaking of Jesus Christ , He is the True Light!

John 1:9   That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

John 8:12   Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Our prayer this month, as we remember the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, that we will watch what we say, where we go, what we do; that in our life, we will reflect the love and Light of Jesus Christ!!

WHERE WE BEEN

Our team, which included J.D. and Lucinda Couch, Bob and Donna Whitchurch, and of course Mary and I, returned last week from Balmorhea, Texas. We shared in our last blog post about the trip!  We had been praying for several things concerning the meeting.  One was for us to see someone from the influx of oil field people come to Christ, another was for new members be added to the church membership, and for attendance be great for the scheduled Cowboy Christmas Program!  God answered the prayers!  We saw one man saved, who is there working in that oil boom area, we saw a man, his wife and son join the membership of the church, and we had nearly 50 people there on Sunday morning, and nearly 40 on Sunday evening, even with a special scheduled concert by the school which was held at the Community Center!  God blessed, we had a great trip, and our team  missed all the snow and ice, and enjoyed beautiful weather and fellowship with the great folks from FBC, Balmorhea!

WHERE WE ARE GOING

Since it is that time of year when most churches are busy with Christmas events, revivals are put on hold!  As a result, the months of December and January are normally slow for us.  Sometimes we get to do some supply preaching, but overall, we spend a lot of time in Bible Study,  prayer, and planning for the next year.

One of the things we have been in much prayer about is the mission work we do each year.  When we say mission work, we are speaking about those meetings where the income is no where near what it takes to travel there and back.  We do several of those each year.  We have been asking the Lord two things concerning those meetings.  Places to go and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the means to get there and back!  Believe me, He has taken care of both of those things!  As we write, we have either already scheduled, or have good prospects of doing about 30 meetings in 2019!  Some of those are indeed mission meetings, but God has already provided the means for us to do the ones we have scheduled!  GOD IS GREAT!  As most of you know we never write, call or ask for any financial help for SCM.  We go, take what is given, and is some cases, nothing is given, because again, they are often mission type meetings.  We have never gone without, never faced a time when there was not enough, and never had to cancel anything because we could not afford to go!  God has used so many wonderful people and churches to help us, and every year, and including 2019, unless something unexpected happens, we will have enough to complete what we have scheduled!  Praise be to His Name!

Mary and I pray each of you will have a great and blessed Merry Christmas!  None of us know what 2019 will bring about.  We are blessed right now with lower fuel prices, several meetings, and all looks great thanks to the Lord!  Our prayer is at this same time next year, we can look back and say, "indeed this has been a blessed year"!

We had said in our first blog last month, we were going to try to send something weekly, well, maybe we should have said, monthly!  Thanks for all you do, your love, care, and prayers!  Until later, we will remain,

Sincerely yours in Christ Jesus!!
